Our Story

In September of 2001 Greg's mother, Susan was diagnosed with breast cancer. Greg was able to witness first hand one of the most courageous stories one would ever hear.

In addition to being a loving wife, Susan was also a dedicated mother. While going through several rounds of chemotherapy, Susan was able to keep the family together by waking up everyday and living her life just like she did before she was diagnosed. Even though she was physically and emotionally drained, Susan never missed one sporting event or school function that any of her three boys or husband was participating in. Every Friday night Susan would throw on her blonde wig underneath her Wayne Hills Football hat and be sitting right there in the stands to watch her two sons, Greg and Chris play, her youngest son, Kevin, be the ball boy and her husband, Chris, coach the team. Greg has always remembered looking up in the stands, rain or shine, and seeing his mother cheering on the team just as she always did.

Susan is now an 8 year survivor and Greg will never forget what his mother did for him and the rest of the family. It is in Susan's honor that Greg has started "Receptions for Research" The Greg Olsen Foundation. Greg saw first hand how difficult it was for his mother to battle breast cancer, and he wants to make sure that everyone who is affected by this terrible disease has a "second change at life", just as Susan did.
